Paying a visit

Former UFC Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez paid a visit to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Velasquez was thought techniques by Norman Smiley, one of the coaches at the Performance Center.

The two-time UFC heavyweight champion would train alongside superstars from NXT, WWE's developmental program. Velasquez also participated in the yoga session led by WWE Hall of Famer, and Businessman Diamond Dallas Page. 

Velasquez also did some weight training while there, as well as attended the next set of NXT Tapings at Full Sail Live.


Future MMA hall of famer

Regarded as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, Velasquez holds notable wins over Junior Dos Santos, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, as well as current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

The American Kickboxing Academy product boasts a 14-2 MMA record, with 13 by way of knockout. He also holds the highest percentage of significant strikes in his division.


Possible career change?

Just like current WWE superstar Ronda Rousey, Velasquez has been a lifelong fan of the WWE and the Lucha Libre style of Mexico. He also had high praises for the athletes that compose of the developmental roster.

“My experience here has been amazing,” Velasquez said. Furthermore, he said that “I’m just looking forward to being here and learning as much as I can. I’ve been a fan of the sport since I was a little kid, and now I get to participate in it.”


With the WWE having signed a number of former and current UFC stars on its roster, an athlete of Velasquez' caliber will be a great addition shall he decide to enter professional wrestling.
